A Daughter Wronged

Issue: The client reported having a fear of abandonment. He wished to part ways with his wife but could not bring himself to leave her.

During the PLR session, the client regressed to a time when he was king of a small kingdom. His daughter had run away to marry a common man. Shortly thereafter, she came back to the palace to introduce her husband, the common man, to her parents i.e. the king and his queen. Upon seeing them, the king got very angry and asked her to leave immediately. Even so, he asked his minister to arrange for three chests of coins and jewels that were to be sent with her so that she could lead a comfortable life. He, nevertheless, forbade his daughter to come to meet him or her mother and promised her that he would never speak to her again.

Two years later, the king received news that something had happened to his daughter. He was informed that his daughter had been stabbed in the stomach by her husband. Even as his legs refused to move from the shocking news, he rushed towards his horse and galloped hastily towards her home.

As he stood in front of the main door, which had been left open, he could see his daughter’s body lying on the floor, with a dagger gutting the centre of her abdomen. He forced himself to face this ghastly sight as pools of blood surrounded her. He remembered all those times where he had vowed to protect her as she was growing up. How could he have abandoned her when she was in the gravest of danger?

The king was overcome with grief and remorse. He had been aware of the ill-character of the man his daughter had married. Why did he think that she would need only wealth from him and not his protection? Why had he let his anger cloud his judgment? He spent the rest of his days wallowing in sadness and regret unable to accept that he had failed his own precious daughter.

Learning: The client was able to let go of the feelings of grief and remorse from his past life and understood that his current fear of abandonment was a mechanism to prevent him from making the same mistake in this life. After the session, he could assess the situation with his wife more clearly without any fear of abandonment.
